Savannah, Georgia

April 7th- April 12th

There is just something about the name “Savannah”. We’ve always wanted to go as we’ve heard wonderful things about the city. Arriving at CreekFire RV Resort was going to make it difficult to get out and about! The place was great. A kid’s dream. There was a lazy river on site along with a pool and splash pad. We had a lakefront spot which made for wonderful views. The buildings and structures were full of southern architecture and we were excited to enjoy the grounds. Upon arrival, we found a Whole Foods nearby so Meghan was in food shopping heaven! Things were off to a great start.

I’ve got some clients on Hilton Head Island SC which was only a 40 minute drive. It was great to get out for some golf with them and enjoy the beautiful course we played. They were so kind and invited the whole family to their house for an Italian feast one night! We had such a great time visiting and catching up.

Prior to us heading to their house for dinner, we went for a bike ride near Harbour Town on Hilton Head. This was a highlight of our time in the area! We rode through Sea Pines Forest Preserve which was beautiful. We saw some gators on the ride and the homes were breathtaking. It was a great day out and about and we loved the area!

We took a day trip to downtown Savannah and walked through all of the squares. Incredible history all throughout the squares with each offering it’s own unique story. We had a great lunch overlooking the Savannah River and found the most delicious cookie store one could dream of. The place was called Byrd’s Famous Cookies. It is an absolute must for anyone who has a sweet tooth!

Life remained busy with work and school, but, we always manage to make the most of our time as a family and explore the area. One of the things we enjoy doing is family movie night in the 5th wheel. After long days, we snuggle up and enjoy a movie together. We watched “The Little Rascals” while in Savannah and had some great laughs!

Savannah/Hilton Head Island was a great destination. We continue to enjoy the south and this adventure God has us on!
