Lafayette, Louisiana

March 24th

While we had just 1 night in Louisiana, it felt like a lot more. It seemed like we were never going to get across Texas, but, we finally did.

Arriving in Lafayette was a new experience. As we got into Louisiana, it was interesting as it seemed like houses and buildings were under water right next to us. The Bayou’s were very cool!

We got to a local KOA and were fortunate to score a spot right on the lake. The boys instantly wanted to get their fishing poles in the water. They’ve become quite the anglers. We struck up some conversation with the campers next to us who were full-time RVers on the road with their young family. They had some local friends visiting with them and so I started asking about dinner spots. Boy am I glad I did! One of the guy’s recommended a place called “Prejeans”. We took his recommendation and it was incredible! I love gumbo and hands down, this was the best ever. It was smokey and good. We all indulged on some good fried food including gator bites, crawfish, catfish, shrimp and lots of fries. It was great! It would have been nice to have an extra night, but, we were excited to hit the road and get to Alabama for our next lengthy stay.
