Bozeman, Montana Part 2

Waking up to a nearly 360 degree view of Mountain ranges is a beautiful thing! While California certainly has a lot to offer, we really started enjoying “living on the land”. Our second week in Montana included more trips to Murdoch’s, glorious dining experiences, additional fishing and time well spent with family. Additionally, homeschooling and working remote made for some full days!

While we were in Bozeman, we went to my brother and Amanda’s church. It was great being indoors, masks and all, and having fellowship with others. It was refreshing to worship with others and hear some great teaching! Felt “normal” in an unusual period of time. After church it was back to Western Cafe for the world’s best breakfast!

During our last week, we visited a nearby city called Livingston. It was a cool town! On our way down there, we stopped at the Grizzly Bear encounter. Wow! Seeing a Grizzly Bear up close and personal was wild. We decided we definitely need bear spray moving forward. While in Livingston, we visited the historic Train Depot which was educational and we learned a lot about local, and, U.S. history.

One evening we went for dinner at a place called Stacey’s Steak House. It was a legitimate cowboy establishment. The food was great and the ambiance even better. Montana has some great steaks!

Meghan, Amanda, Mom & sister Lisa were able to sneak away for a little girl time and enjoyed coffee and the Gallatin River together. They came back with the most delicious cinnamon rolls one could ever dream of!

The boys continued to assist with feeding the animals each morning, running around the property during the day and enjoying a little Nintendo (aunt Amanda has the original) at night. Uncle David often had to work long days but ended his night in a comfy rocking chair saying goodnight to the boys. We also found an afternoon toward the end of the week to sneak in some additional fishing. Montana fishing is the best!

Saying goodbye was difficult. We had 12 wonderful days in Montana. What a beautiful state. The boys had a hard time saying goodbye to the animals, particularly Max & Penny. (the dogs) What a refreshing experience being in a beautiful place and getting quality time with family. We look forward to returning to Montana one day! Idaho here we come!

  3. Wow! I’m so jealous. I have been to the mountains so many times in all different states and have only seen a wild bear once. Such a cool experience for the kids.
