Lander, Wyoming

September 11th- September 12th

It was a bitter sweet departure from Steamboat Springs. We would have loved to have had a few more days to enjoy the charm of the quaint town and all that it had to offer! However, we’ve been excited to get to our next destination: The Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone! It was a long drive from Steamboat to Grand Tetons, so, we broke up the trip by stopping in Lander, WY.

As we drove through Wyoming, there was not much civilization. It was extremely flat with beautiful mountain ranges all along the way. The snowcapped mountains were beautiful and the terrain was different than Utah and Colorado.

We arrived in Lander at Sleeping Bear RV Park on Friday afternoon. It was a great spot! It was nestled up on a hill overlooking the town of Lander and all the surroundings. Lander is a small town with lots of charm. We had a nice quick setup upon arrival and were ready to go explore the town.

Per a recommendation, we went to Gannett Grill and had some of the best burgers ever! There were lots of modern day cowboys dining around us and we really enjoyed the vibe. After dinner we stumbled upon the corner ice cream spot that was open for the last day of the season. We grabbed our ice cream and found an open field with an old public theater. The boys created a short play and performed on stage for us. It is these kinds of moments that stick out on our trip. The impromptu times where we are far from home in an unknown place, enjoying the adventure and not knowing what exactly will happen next. After the boys theatrical performance, we drove through town and found a great area with lots of snow. The boys hopped out of the truck and had a snowball fight in September! They were loving it. We headed back to camp to try and get some rest before heading to the Tetons. The next morning, Brandon was disconnecting hoses to discover an issue with our black tank valve. Uh oh!! Off to the Tetons we go.

Off to the Grand Tetons!

RV life is catching up to him!
