Glenwood Springs, Colorado

September 3rd – September 7th

The drive from Heber City Utah to Glenwood Springs was about five hours. A lot of open land along the way! We arrived at the Glenwood Springs KOA nestled along the Colorado River. We celebrated our 11 year anniversary Saturday September 5th by hiking Doc Holliday’s grave trail, (highlight for Brandon) going to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park (incredible caves) and ending our day with some of the best ice cream one could dream of! It was nice to be with the boys on our special day.

Sunday the 6th, we drove down to visit Brandon’s sister Valerie and her husband Craig in the Aspen area. The boys had a blast with Craig on their trampoline and we all had a really nice visit! We ended the day with a pit stop at Whole Foods Market. It was a fun experience! Everyone got to pick out their meal for the night and we sat in the truck, nice and dirty, eating away as a family. It’s these kinds of moments that seem to make this experience memorable.

Unfortunately no luck fishing this trip, but, the boys are determined to keep at it! The mornings and evenings were very chilly with the days being nice and warm. We loved seeing all the green trees and the Colorado River that ran through the town.

Prior to leaving on Monday, Brandon was able to drive down to visit with one of his nephew Taylor’s dear friends in Carbondale. He was grateful to have the meaningful exchange with him while on the road. Off to Steamboat Springs!

    1. For some reason I thought I already replied to you but it didn’t show it. We just did the caverns that day. The roller coasters and the rest of the park looked really fun though! Hope you and your family are doing well.
